Roll Tide

A 2016 NY bred colt by COURAGEOUS CAT

This extremely athletic looking colt is the son of Courageous Cat, a multiple graded stakes winner and a Grade 1 winner of over $1.16 million.  He is a young sire off to a great start with 29 winners in his first 58 starters with two stakes winners and five stakes-placed horses.  His best performer is School Board Prez, who is already a stakes winner with more than $377,000 in earnings in his young career.  His other top performers include Feeling Bossy, Lady Joan, Amber Louise and Unbridled Adventure.

Courageous Cat ran the fastest mile ever when he won a stakes race in an eye-popping 1:31.2.  He is a half-brother to After Market, a multiple Grade 1 winner.  Courageous Cat is the son of Storm Cat and we expect that he will quickly become a very hot stallion based on his early numbers from his first crop.

Roll tide is out of the Smarty Jones mare named Fundsalo Jones, who was a winner herself.  She is out of a family of many black-type stakes winners including Pocketfullofpesos, Quiet Cash, Queen of Money and Spanky Fischbein, as well as many other stakes-placed black-type horses.  Roll Tide is inbred on a 5 x 6 cross of Northern Dancer.  His pedigree suggests speed and distance both.

He will be trained by trainer Graham Motion and stabled at the Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland.  As a NY bred, he is eligible for the lucrative purses offered in the restricted NY bred races at Belmont, Saratoga and Aqueduct and he will race on that circuit as well as the northeast and mid-atlantic circuits.  He is currently in training and should be ready to race by the summer/fall of 2018.
